Two Rivers Holding COVID Vaccine Clinic in Kearney Wednesday

Mar 30, 2021 | 4:08 PM

KEARNEY, Neb. – Two Rivers Public Health Department will be holding another mass COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Kearney on Wednesday, March 31, 2021.  The clinic, hosted by Two Rivers Public Health, will be held at the Viaero Center, and all appointments have already been filled for this clinic. The clinic will feature the Pfizer vaccine.

The State of Nebraska is reporting a total of 824,416 vaccinations administered, with 21.18% being fully vaccinated, and Two Rivers is reporting 47,734 total vaccinations with 25.29% fully vaccinated.  As a result of these numbers, vaccinations were opened to the general population over 16 years of age last week in the Two Rivers district.

Residents age 16 and older are now eligible for the Pfizer vaccine, and residents 18 years and older are eligible for the Moderna or Janssen vaccines.

Allocations at this time are mainly Pfizer and Moderna.  It is unknown if Two Rivers will be receiving any more of the Janssen vaccine or when that might become available.

It is highly recommended that residents not wait for additional doses of the Janssen vaccine if they are wishing to receive a vaccination as additional allocations may not arrive in the district.

The clinic on Wednesday will give over 1,000 Two Rivers residents their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine, with the second dose being administered three weeks after. Two Rivers Public Health is thrilled to be at this stage of vaccination, which is ahead of the anticipated schedule. Additional first dose clinics will be announced when scheduled.
