Huskers take third at Big Ten Championships

Nebraska wrestling scored 105.5 points at the 2021 Big Ten Championships over the weekend, good for third place and the program’s seventh top-five finish at the event.

Finishing at the front of the pack were Iowa (159.5 points) and Penn State (124 points).

The Huskers had three second-place finishers at the meet, where eight clinched automatic bids to the NCAA Championships.

Finishing runner-up were Ridge Lovett (149), Taylor Venz (184) and Eric Schultz (197).

In other results, Mike Labriola finished third (174), Chad Red (141) and Peyton Robb (165) finished fourth, Christian Lance (285) finished fifth, Caleb Licking (157) finished seventh, and Liam Cronin (125) and Tucker Sjomeling (133) both finished ninth.

The NCAA Championships are March 18-20 in St. Louis, Missouri.
