Nebraska ends regular-season with loss at Iowa

By News Mar 6, 2021 | 10:23 PM

Just like the possibility of an at-large bid the NCAA Tournament, Nebraska had its chances for much of the game before faltering late.

The Huskers (11-11, 9-10 Big Ten) led through three quarters, but Iowa (15-8, 11-8 Big Ten) freshman Caitlin Clark took over for the 83-75 Hawkeye win.

Clark, who scored 39 points in Lincoln earlier this season, posted 35 Saturday.

Four Huskers scored in double-digits, with Ashley Scoggin leading the way with 17 points. Sam Haiby pitched in 14, Isabelle Bourne scored 13, and Kate Cain added 12.

The loss slots Nebraska into the 8-seed in the Big Ten Conference tournament this week. The Huskers will play Minnesota Wednesday at 10 a.m. CT. In the two previous meetings this season, the Gophers were victorious 76-71 then 73-63.
