The Hastings Museum remains closed to the public. The staff has been putting out more online content to engage people. Its new program is The Pen Pal Program and is a way for people to connect and interact with one another safely. Participants visit the museum’s website and sign up, they then will get mailed a profile sheet to answer a few basic questions and make the matching process easier. Kids will be matched with kids and adults with adults based on a variety of background and interests. The program has people signed up from Hastings and some out-of-state individuals. The first batch of matches and letters will begin taking place right around Thanksgiving, however the program has a rolling sign up; if you miss the first round it won’t be too late to join.
