The Nebraska football team will face the Iowa Hawkeyes in Iowa City on Black Friday. The Big Ten Conference made that announcement Monday. The Big Ten West rivals have met on Black Friday each year since the Huskers joined the Big Ten. Overall, this will mark the 31st straight season Nebraska has played on Black Friday, dating back to the 1990 season. In addition to 10 matchups with Iowa, the Huskers played Colorado for 15 straight seasons from 1996 to 2010, and met Oklahoma six consecutive years from 1990 to 1995. The kickoff time will be announced at a later date and the game will be televised by FOX or FS1.

Two Rivers Public Health Department reported more than 100 new cases of COVID-19 just this weekend alone. With Kearney now labeled a local hot spot, local health experts say the area is in for another surge similar to spring. The city is taking a step backwards closing many of their buildings to the public. Public Works and the Utility Department are closed as of Monday. The library will be closed to the public starting on Tuesday. As of Monday local hospitals aren’t near capacity, but it’s important that every person does their part to help prevent them from getting there.
