Nebraska is rejoining a number of states on Chicago’s quarantine order, along with South Dakota, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri. The Chicago Department of Public Health Commissioner issued an Emergency Travel Order directing people traveling to or from Chicago from states experiencing a surge in new COVID-19 cases to quarantine for 14 days. The latest expansion announced brings the total number of affected states to 22. The order also applies to city residents returning from a visit to a designated state. People found in violation of the order could face fines between $100 and $500 per day, totaling up to $7,000.
No cases of COVID-19 transmitted through playing in high school football games have been reported to the National Federation of State High School Associations. The group oversees 17 state high school sports associations including Nebraska.
