NE Strong Update

The State Fair, which runs from Aug. 28 to Sept. 7, will be “a celebration of Nebraska 4-H and FFA youth,”  The 4-H events will take place this first weekend, with FFA next weekend.  Ten food vendors and 20 commercial vendors will be on hand.. There will be no concerts inside the Heartland Events Center, but there will be shows outdoors in the evenings. Admission to the fair will be free. Kearney Area Children’s Museum presents “Mom’s Morning Out” this Wednesday from 9:30-11:30am. The event is for kids 3-6. Cost is just $7 for members and $12 for non members. Go to www.kearneychildrensmuseum.org for more.

After years without one, Ravenna will once again have a full-service grocery store. Veronica and Jamie Morse, owners of MNO Hometown Market and Catering in Wood River, have bought the former Ravenna Super Foods building. The Morses announced the news Friday.
