NE Strong UPDATE

Nebraska Athletic Director Bill Moos shut down any hopes of Husker football playing this fall. Moos said on a Sports Nightly appearance that since the Big Ten season was postponed to the the spring and not cancelled that NU will not pursue games in the fall. Moos also said that NU continues to be a proud member of the conference.

The NCAA has postponed all Division One fall sports championships to the spring. This affects Nebraska as the NCAA volleyball championships were scheduled for Omaha in December.

With Omaha Public schools not participating in fall sports and a recent quarantine by the Grand Island football team there is a new Kearney High football schedule. The Bearcats will now open up on August 28th hosting Lincoln Southeast. The GI game will now be played as the season finale on October 23rd. KHS has also added Westside as their week two opponent.

MONDAY: Mary Lanning Healthcare and the state of Nebraska have partnered to provide free COVID-19 testing to eligible residents beginning August 17 at MLH. Residents will need to take an online assessment through the TestNebraska portal to see if they are eligible for the free testing, the healthcare department said.
