Former Husker defensive coordinator Carl Pelini is taking over as head coach at his alma mater, Cardinal Mooney High School in Youngstown, Ohio. He recently served as defensive coordinator as Youngstown State under his brother, Bo Pelini.

Grand Island junior Isaac Traudt garnered six more Division I offers last week. The 6-foot-9 forward added offers from Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Stanford, Iowa State and Oklahoma State. He already had offers from both Nebraska and Creighton.

Omaha Public Schools has suspended school-sponsored workouts. Superintendent Cheryl Logan said workouts, weightlifting and practices have all been suspended through the end of the summer. Monday was the last day teams could meet.

Pleasanton defensive end Tyce Westland has committed to Wyoming. The 6-foot-4 220-pound senior chose the Cowboys over a number of Division Two offers. 

Former Creighton guard Ty-Shon Alexander has received an invitation to participate in the NBA combine. Alexander, a first-team All-Big East performer last season, declared for the NBA draft in April. It’s still unclear as to when the NBA combine will be held. The NBA draft will be held on October 16th
