Nebraska men’s basketball coach Fred Hoiberg had one more scholarship to fill for next season which he got a verbal commitment for Monday.

Eduardo Andre, the 6-foot-10 center, has only been playing basketball since he was 15. Andre, originally from Angola, moved to London when he was four-years-old. He played three years of basketball at Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas before playing his senior season at Compass Prep in Arizona.

“Eduardo brings length and explosiveness to our frontcourt,” said Hoiberg. “His ability to protect the rim gives us a dimension that we didn’t have last year, and he has the skillset to play inside-out. Eduardo has only been playing competitively for a few years, but he has a lot of upside, and we think can develop in our program.”

Andre’s commitment fills the 2020 class for Nebraska. He joins junior college transfers Teddy Allen and Lat Mayen, along with other transfers Kobe King, Trey McGowens, and Kobe Webster.
