High School Football Playoffs: Area Preview

NEBRASKA – First round of eleven-man and six-man football kicks off tonight while the statewide re-seeding of eight-man football resets the landscape for area teams on the gridiron tonight. 

In Class A, Kearney and Grand Island rematch at Foster Field. Kickoff is at 7 PM with KGFW providing live coverage of the game. 

Class B’s Northwest hosts #9 Norris, #4 York battles Scottsbluff at home, and #10 Hastings travels to Seward. All kickoffs are set for 7 PM.

Class C1 has Broken Bow welcoming DC West to Custer County, #13 Gothenburg travels to the panhandle to face Sidney, and #11 Aurora rematches #6 Adams Central at the home of the Patriots.

In Class C2, #8 Kearney Catholic hosts #9 Battle Creek with a 6 PM kickoff, Ord hosts Cedar Catholic, Hastings St. Cecilia welcomes Yutan, and Amherst heads to Oakland-Craig for a 5:30 kickoff.

In 8-man football in Class D1, #9 Ravenna travels to #8 Arapahoe, and in Class D2 Anselmo-Merna heads to top-seed Johnson-Brock, South Loup hosts Lawrence-Nelson in Callaway, and Axtell faces Humphrey St. Francis at 5 PM.

Finally in 6-man action, #1 SEM hosts Paxton at 6 PM, Wilcox-Hildreth takes on Garden County, and Shelton travels to Arthur County for a 1 PM MST kickoff.
