We liked to give a shout out to the Wood River Volunteer Fire and Rescue. They do an amazing job. They are quick to respond. Are incredibly talented in their profession. And care deeply for those they help. They responded to an accident Phil was in last August where he lost part of his leg. They responded quickly and did what they needed to do to take care of Phil. Not only did they take care of Phil, but also helped me through a very traumatic experience. Wood River is so fortunate to have such a highly talented and care group of men and women as volunteers. Also that same evening Chris Bond - who worked for the GI Fire Department happened to be in the ER on another call. Chris saw Phil and immediately came in to see if he could help. Phil was in pain and Chris did what he could to help him. He went above and beyond. We are so thankful to the men and women who choose this profession. Prayers to all of them.

On January 18th of this year my husband and I welcomed our big little guy Hunter Kuhlman weighing in at 9lbs 5oz. He was great and healthy! And mom was doing great also. But about 2hrs after delivery mom started to go down hill fast... I started lossing blood... alot of blood. I started to get sick, my IV failed, and I started to have chest pains. The rapid response team and flight nurses were called in. Dr. (SCOTT) Wewel from family practice was my doctor and bless his heart for all he did that night. Also nurse Mara, Karen, Amanda and any one else who helped from good sam in Kearney. With out all of you I may not be here today. Maybe not who you would thing for hero day but they will forever be mine.

There's two flight nurses and a pilot at Good Sam that we'd like to give a shout out to! As a mom who was just told her 3 year old son just had a stroke, I was a wreck! These two managed to not only give my son the best flight and make sure he was as comfortable as possible but me as well! There's not enough thanks in the world for them and though I don't remember their names, their faces and actions will be in our hearts forever! Thank you to all other emergency personnel, you truly are heroes!
